What type of 20 gauge stainless steel would be good to make ulu knives? - ulu knives

I'm known as Eskimos in Alaska Ulu Knife. And I wonder what kind of stainless steel 20 gauge would be a good thing to do these Ulus.

The stainless steel blades, not very good. Try to use mild steel or C-steel.

Charlie B has worked out everything. Stainless steel was chosen because it does not rust, well but simply do not have a sharp edge. The "old timers" used to the best on knife and carbon steel. Everything looked horrible after a while, but his voice was great. Go carbon.

440C

Quote: "When a heat treatment, one of the hardest steels. High carbon content gives a good wear resistance. Magnetically. Ideal for bearings, valve parts and blades. The temperature was not evaluated.
